MMSA Directors Miller, Pair Chosen to Present at National Main Streets

Mississippi Main Street is proud of our Member Communities and also proud of our District Directors who roll up their sleeves and get dirty "working in the field" in these towns and cities every day.
District Directors Jan Miller and Stacy Pair have been selected to share their local and regional expertise with other Main Streets across the nation. Miller and Pair will present "Get Your Festival Groove On" in Oklahoma City, OK at the National Trust Main Street Center annual conference, May 3-5.
Their proposal was selected among 65 other session proposals. Miller and Pair, as well as MMSA Architect Randy Wilson, presented sessions at last year's National Main Streets conference in Chicago. All sessions received high ratings. Below is a description of what Miller and Pair will present in Oklahoma. Way to go, ladies!
Get Your Festival Groove On
Successful festivals can be “fab” if you have all the cool tools to make it happen. So sit back and chill while you learn how to make your festival as “bad” as hot pants and disco music while making money to fund downtown projects year after year. Don’t let your festival be a “bummer." Use it as a recruitment tool for volunteers for life while building your organization as a leader in your community. So let’s stop all this “jive talking” and “get down and boogie” on the success train of festival development.
Learn time saving tips and how to recruit, maintain and empower festival volunteers year after year. Integrate technology in volunteer management, advertising, vendor placement, evaluation and promoting your festival. Generate maximum profits while living within a budget and keep sponsors engaged year round.
