May 14: Walk in Elvis’ Footsteps in Biloxi: (BILOXI) The City of Biloxi is celebrating and honoring Biloxi’s history. Every year in May, “The Preserve Biloxi Committee” chooses something to celebrate from Biloxi’s vast 327-year history. This summer marks the 70th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s vacation on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and his performances in several Biloxi locations. The committee chose to “Walk in Elvis’ Footsteps” which is the title of year’s event. There will be a bus tour of the locations he visited, along with a panel of “eyewitnesses” with stories of their encounters with a very young Elvis, just before his meteoric rise to stardom! There will be lots of Elvis food, fun, and music included also!
This is a free community event. It will start and end at the Dr. Frank Gruich Sr. Community Center 591 Howard Ave. at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments & fun will be provided!
