Mission Statement

The mission of Main Street Columbus is to enhance local culture and quality of life through planning, growth, diversification and preservation of the downtown historic district.

 

About Columbus

Columbus is a city in and the county seat of Lowndes County, on the eastern border of Mississippi, located primarily east, but also north and northeast of the Tombigbee River, which is also referred to as the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. Columbus is part of the area of Mississippi called The Golden Triangle, consisting of Columbus, West Point and Starkville, in the counties of Lowndes, Clay and Oktibbeha. Columbus was awarded the Great American Main Street Award (GAMSA) by Main Street America in 2010.
